Art Gallery

First of all... if you can only see white text on a white background... update your browser!!!!!


Today I went to the art gallery for uni. It was really nice, I felt very cultured going to an art gallery!! I caught the train in with kat from uni, yolanda, abishek, elly and tommy (i met him on the train). It was fun.
We got to Wynyard and then walked to martin place where I got a photo of Nat Barr from sunrise - if you were there today you'll know that was a big deal!!!

We then went to the Domain (where the NSW art gallery is) and did some sketching. We had to sketch this sculpture (see below) and then do the negative space (by jove that was hard!) then we had to do an abstract landscape of the scenery. That was fun, but I didn't really get it so i'm going to redo mine with the photo I took.

After our little sketching escapade we went into the art gallery and looked at the Aboriginal gallery. It was amazing. My favourite work is Lin Onus. It was in the Aboriginal Art gallery.TIt is a sculpture representing the Indigenous Australians reclaiming the land. It is a totally amazing sculpture! After this we had a little talky thing, rather boring then went to a character talk. This was kinda fun (a bit weird though!). And then had a look around the gallery.

Kat, Loz and Laura and I then went and had lunch at Wynyard and then went home. It was good.
