Peace Out

Given the recent discussion on the phrase "peace out" I thought I'd discover what it actually means. I embarked on this journey and was quite surprised.

First of all when you go to Google and type in peace out, the first thing that you see is a website entitled Peace Out. It has this image on it's front page..

odd don't you think?

Or if you are unsatisfied with getting out of the military... perhaps you are searching for a book entitled "Peace Out, Dawg: Tales from Ground Zero"? Only $11.53 on amazon!

Then I discovered perhaps the intended meaning on Alistairs blog...

Definition: A friendly way to say goodbye.

Example: 1) Peace out, guys. I'm going home.

Etymology: 'Peace' started being used as a greeting in the 1960s. 'Out' comes from a standard way of finishing a conversation on a two-way radio -- 'over and out'.

Synonyms: later

Interesting no!? (thanks to http://www.englishdaily626.com/slang.php?089 for their definition).

Back at last

Hello - It hasn't been too long since my last post, I'm quite impressed. It feels like ages since I last posted though. I'm sitting here at the moment, thinking of going to bed soon, listening to the schools spectacular cd. It's kinda fun. It's fun to hear it all from a 3rd person perspective not being stuck in the choir stalls.

Well, I don't remember where I got up to in my last post, but I think it was Austria (Australia) Day. So we went to the fireworks that night. It was really crowded but it made me feel almost patriotic for a while. My knees were really sore though so that dented my enjoyment a little. The fireworks were amazing and mum and I had fun working out who was conducting all the choirs (it was George and Ian's chois and the senior dance ensemble). We also laughed a lot when the schools spec version of the national anthem played and we automatically sang our parts and when the schools spec version of 'Great Southern Land' came on haha.

Friday, Jono and I went to Berowra Waters, that was nice - quite relaxing. We ended up at Hornsby Westfield and wandered around there a little. When we got home we decided that I'd go to Fitzroy Falls with him that night. I was very excited. That ended up being perhaps my most memorable and enjoyable time of my whole holidays!

So I arrived on Friday night, all the family was still awake to greet me. Even Miriam and James (the two youngest kids 5 and 7). I had a nice chat to Vince and Jean (Jono's parents) after the kids went to sleep and then I got to see Jono's baby photos (much to his dislike I think). He was a very cute baby!
We soon went to bed. Saturday I woke up around 9:30, got up and hung around the house a bit. I got a tour of their 5 acres from the house in progress, to Valemont (the dog), to Molly (?) (the goat) and then to the orchard and the wind break! It was good fun (I even got my hand held my Miriam!). After this Jono and I went to see the famous Fitzroy Falls. They were beautiful and even though it was hot I enjoyed it. After that he took me on a sightseeing tour of one side of the Southern Highlands. I couldn't speak it was so beautiful! I loved it. That afternoon we played with the kids and things. After dinner had a cricket game (I suck!). That was quite hilarious. At night Naomi (12), Dan (16), Jono, Vince, Jean, Caleb (10) and I played scrabble. That was quite funny and good fun!
On Sunday I went to church with them played with the kids afterwards (soccer with James). Took Naomi to musical practise in Bowral, had lunch there and toured around. Went up "the jib" (this big mountain with breathtaking views). That was great fun. We then picked up Naomi, listened to Colin Buchannan, Delta Goodrem, Human Nature, Shrek 2 (and such artists), singing really loudly. It was so funny and we had such a time. When we got home we didn't do heaps until my parents arrived. We then had dinner and had a concert in the back yard. So many funny memories - I'd be here for hours! I had to go around 9 or so. It was very sad - I didn't want to leave. But I got a special butterfly drawn for me which is now on my special wall.

There were so many memories and I had such a rad time!

The rest of this week has been spent doing a few fun things. I got my fairy back today - all framed etc. I also started making a bag - it looks cool, but it has a lot of special detailing on it which is taking a while. I spent a bit of time with Sarah this week too. She's torn a muscle and is a little sore and things at the moment. I also went to the doctors this morning, he says that my tiredness/dizziness and things like that are due to my allergies being out of control. I have more things to take in the hope it will stablise them.

So that's my life story at the moment. On Monday I'm going with Caro and Alistair and probably some others into the city. Caro is going to Bangkok for a holiday and so we thought we'd do something before she goes. It should be good fun!

Anyway, time to fly! It's nearly 10:30 and we have people for dinner tomorrow night, I also have a few things to get done tomorrow.

Love and such things,
